What Is Your Breakout Telling You?

  1. Forehead
  2. Chin And Jaw
  3. Cheeks

Breakouts happen when you least expect it. Got an important video conference call? An unexpected zit decides to pop up on your nose. Excited for a night out in the club? Acne all over your forehead. First date? Breakout on your cheeks. These things seem to know the worst time to show up. What I’m trying to say is that breakouts suck. Just like a bad hair day, they can ruin your day.

Even with all the skincare products out in the market, we all know that breakouts will happen. Those products cannot completely prevent breakouts from happening. At best, they can minimize the effects and how often they occur. We just have to deal with it and get on with our lives. As nasty as a breakout is, did you know that it can tell you a lot about your health? Face mapping is the practice of examining where acne appears to determine if there are underlying health issues. This is important as there are a lot of factors that cause these nasty zits to appear. Skincare is not only about what you apply to your skin but also on how you take care of your body.

Forehead

Do pimples usually appear on your forehead? This could mean that you are always under a lot of stress and have poor eating habits. To lessen the effects of a breakout, get enough sleep (7 to 9 hours), minimize sugar consumption and eat less processed food. Also, try keeping your hair and hats off your forehead. The hair products that you are using combined with friction can block the pores on your skin.

Chin And Jaw

Breakouts on the chin and jaw are linked to hormones. This is called hormonal acne which is caused by excess hormones due to pregnancy and menstruation. This causes excessive oil production, inflammation and clogged skin pores. To minimize the effects, eliminate dairy from your diet and add probiotics as they can help with the inflammation.

Cheeks

Acne on your cheeks is linked to your respiratory system. If you live in a city or somewhere that air pollution is heavy, you will have to put in extra effort when cleansing your face. Aside from that, you also have to make sure that what you are breathing in is as clean as possible. Having clean air in your home would really help with this. You can get an air purifier or air-purifying plants to minimize the pollutants in the air you are taking in.
